1.Vor der Prüfung das Fahrzeug in den Zustand vor der Prüfung versetzen.
2.Den Zündschalter in die Stellung „LOCK“ (OFF) drehen und anschließend das M.U.T.-III an den Diagnosestecker anschließen (siehe GRUPPE 00 - Verwendung der Fehlersuche/Prüfung – Wartungspunkte - Diagnosefunktion ).
3.Die Stroboskoplampe an die Stromversorgungsleitung (Klemme Nr. 3) der Zündspule Nr. 1 anschließen.4.Den Motor starten und im Leerlauf laufen lassen.5.Prüfen, ob der Zündzeitpunkt dem Sollwert entspricht.Sollwert: ca. 10° vor OT6. Hinweis Der Zündzeitpunkt kann innerhalb von ±7° schwanken. Dies ist normal. In größeren Höhen ist der Zündzeitpunkt gegenüber dem Sollwert um ca. 5° weiter vorgestellt. Nach dem Starten des Motors ca. 1 Minute warten und den Zündzeitpunkt prüfen, sobald sich der Motorlauf stabilisiert hat. 7.Die Leerlaufdrehzahl prüfen.Sollwert: 680 ± 100 r/min Hinweis Die Leerlaufdrehzahl wird automatisch durch das Leerlaufdrehzahlregelsystem geregelt. Bei Verwendung des M.U.T.-III den Punkt Nr. 02 auswählen und die Leerlaufdrehzahl ablesen. 8.Wenn die Leerlaufdrehzahl außerhalb des Sollwerts liegt, das MPI-System prüfen (siehe GRUPPE 13D - Fehlersuche - Prüftabelle für Fehlersymptome).9.Die Stroboskoplampe entfernen.10.Den Zündschalter in die Stellung „LOCK“ (OFF) drehen und anschließend den M.U.T.-III abklemmen.

IDLE SPEED CHECK
1.Before inspection, set the vehicle to the pre-inspection condition.
2.Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position and then connect the M.U.T.-III to the diagnosis connector (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - Diagnosis Function ).
3.Set a timing light to the power supply line (terminal No. 3) of the ignition coil No. 1.4.Start the engine and let it run at idle.5.Check that ignition timing is at the standard value.Standard value: approximately 10° BTDC6. note The ignition timing may fluctuate within ±7°. This is normal. In higher altitude, the ignition timing is more advanced than the standard value by approximately 5°. Wait till approximately 1 minute passes after the engine started, and check the ignition timing when the engine stabilized. 7.Check the idle speed.Standard value: 680 ± 100 r/min note The idle speed is controlled automatically by the idle speed control system. When using the M.U.T.-III, select item No. 02 and take a reading of the idle speed. 8.If the idle speed is outside the standard value, inspect the MPI system (Refer to GROUP 13D - Troubleshooting - Inspection Chart for Trouble Symptoms ).9.Remove the timing light.10.Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position and then disconnect the M.U.T.-III.
